Sea Island Builders Achieves State Awards for Best New Home Construction and Best Remodel
Sea Island Builders was recognized on October, 6th at the 2023 Awards In Excellence Banquet held by the South Carolina Home Builders Association as one of the best home builders and remodelers in South Carolina. Pinnacle awards are the most prestigious awards for construction excellence given by the Home Builders Association of South Carolina (HBASC). Award recipients were selected by an independent panel of experts who consider entries from across the entire state. The Pinnacle Awards recognize the craftsmanship of the best home builders and remodelers across the Palmetto state. Awards were given in five categories – new home construction, remodel projects, energy efficiency, subdivision/community and marketing. Sea Island Builders was the only firm to win a Pinnacle Award in both the new home construction and remodeling categories. This distinction further solidifies Sea Island Builders' standing as one of the top residential design-build firms in the state of South Carolina for both new construction and major renovation projects.
Sea Island Builders received an award for best new home construction for their Treehouse project, a beautiful, 6851 square foot, 6 bedroom and 5.5 bathrooms custom home located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Vinyet Architecture designed this home on a beautiful 3.5 acre wooded lot. The family loves the outdoors as the home sports three outdoor porches, a pool, an outdoor basketball court with NBA regulation goals and an indoor basketball court.
Additionally, Sea Island Builders received an award for best renovation for their Raising History project on Sullivan's Island - this historic home was originally built by James Cosgrove in 1890. Sea Island Builders raised this home and added two new wings to the home designed by Herlong Architects. One wing provides a luxurious master retreat for the clients. The other wing encompasses a stunning new living area with beautiful, vaulted ceilings, an entertaining bar, and spacious dining room. The existing heart pine floors were salvaged and repurposed as well as original hand made clay brick. The homeowners love the historic nature of the property and how historic elements were preserved throughout. Remark Landscape Architects designed a beautiful pool in the back with flowing gardens throughout the front and back yards.
The Pinnacle Award winners will be highlighted in the upcoming S.C. Builder Journal and presented on the S.C. Department of Commerce and the S.C. Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism websites to emphasize the craftsmanship and quality of South Carolina's finest residential builders. The Pinnacle Awards were created to honor those in the home building industry who have achieved the highest standard of quality craftsmanship, innovative problem solving and customer satisfaction. This competition is a privilege of membership, as well as a means of challenging the members to greater levels of achievement.
