This project, nicknamed A Stone's Throw, is a custom-built home on the Isle of Palms for a family with two young boys who always dreamt of living within walking distance of the beach for the enjoyment it offers. This site offered beautiful oaks behind which the house was designed to fit seamlessly by project architect, Anita King.
The ground level of this home features a custom dog wash shower, outdoor kitchen, in-ground pool, and a fitness room with an overhead garage door to let the outside in. There is plenty of conditioned storage for surf boards, two cars, and a golf cart. Looking at the exterior, the home is clad in Boral lap siding with wonderfully crafted woven corners, Ipe decking and stairs with Azek mitered skirts and Ipe tread returns, impact rated Marvin elevate windows, and Anderson A-series impact rated sliding glass doors.
Stepping inside, you are greeted with daylight from front to rear as it gleams off the white shiplap walls. The open floorplan provides the perfect layout and function for the family along with a built-in banquet seating area off the kitchen, overlooking the pool. The rear provides a traditional Charleston stacked three level porch with a spiral stair to the rooftop deck where the 360 views are amazing. The primary suite is on the first floor with two upstairs bedrooms plus a flex den space on the second floor. A custom-built reading nook converts into an added bed when needed for additional sleeping accommodations.
