This award winning design-build project is a partnership between Sea Island Builders and Swallowtail Architects - this marsh-front gem is located inside the Cardinal Hill gated community in Mount Pleasant, SC. This custom home sits on Horlbeck Creek on a large secluded lot that reveals itself upon entry. LuAnn McCants led the interior design and selections for the project.
Paramount in the design was the creation of a layered experience that revealed itself upon approaching the home. The curved drive provides privacy from the street and begins to open up as the home is approached. Peek views through the understory pique one’s interest and provides glimpses of the pool, marsh and beyond. Upon entering the foyer, you are welcomed by volume and daylight from the adjacent spacious two story open stairwell accented with beautiful wallpaper and brass light fixtures. As you approach the living room, the views begin to come into focus – the open and linearly connected living room, kitchen, and offset dining space all take amazing advantage of the views. The master suite also boasts amazing views as do the secondary bedrooms, located upstairs.
This project won the 2022 South Carolina Home Builder's Association's Pinnacle Award for Runner-Up Best Custom Home of the Year.
