Sea Island Builders Sponsors Sullivan's Island Beach Sweep

Sea Island Builders, along with Herlong Architects, recently hosted a Beach Sweep on Sullivan's Island.  Despite a cold, windy and rainy day, volunteers showed up and managed to pick up more than 284 pieces of debris from the beach front and nearby beach paths. Sea Island Builders has been based on Sullivan's Island for 9 years and takes pride in being a contributing member of this close-knit community.

A volunteer from the South Carolina Aquarium was on hand to help track and tabulate the results of the debris collected. The data received from this beach sweep, as well as other clean up events, helps the Aquarium create solutions to improve our beaches and other conservation efforts. We are grateful for their participation.

Volunteers were able to thaw out after a chilly start with hot coffee generously provided by The Co-Op and warm donuts from The Fractured Prune just over the bridge in Mt. Pleasant. Sea Island Builders appreciates the support of the volunteers who attended as well as the Sullivan's Island community. We will plan another beach sweep event in the spring. Stay tuned!
